Ecoresponsibility
Ecoresponsibility
Description
Description
For the Council, ecoresponsibility is a vast concept that can be embodied in a multitude of organisational choices and actions, such as purchasing management, work organisation, and raising staff awareness. Many actions are in place in our workplace, such as work-family balance, good waste management, choosing suppliers with good ethics for workers and the environment, supporting employees in their use of public transport, and so on. That’s why a continuous improvement process has been put in place to question the environmental, economic, and social impacts of our practises with a view to achieving an innovative and sustainable transformation over the long term.
‘Sustainable happiness is happiness that contributes to individual, community, or global well-being without exploiting others, the environment, or future generations.’Dr. Catherine O’Brien
Sustainable development policy
Sustainable development policy
As an initiative of the Women’s Environmental Network, the Council is aligned with the various policies of its parent organisation. The sustainable development policy illustrates our commitment to promoting and respecting the principles of sustainable development, both in our activities and in the way we operate as an organisation. We have set ourselves objectives that are consistent with our mission and values and directly linked to our strategic planning.
Digital sobriety policy
Digital sobriety policy
The digital sobriety policy reflects our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint as a result of the increasing use of digital technology in our activities. We have therefore adopted guidelines for better management of emails, files, social networks, websites, and accounts, as well as more responsible use of videoconferencing and electronic devices.
As well as reducing our organisational footprint, this policy aims to influence our stakeholders to reduce the environmental impact of their digital communications. To this end, we offer a support service for developing a policy or framework for responsible digital use as well as for calculating the greenhouse gas emissions generated by digital communications (email and videoconferencing platforms).
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiative
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiative
Since spring 2020, the Réseau des femmes en environnement has been examining its practises with regard to equity, diversity, and inclusion. An EDI advisory committee was formed and mandated to take stock of the situation and suggest possible improvements to the practises of the Réseau des femmes en environnement. The aim is to avoid discriminatory practises and promote greater EDI. An action plan, including more than 25 actions, is currently being drawn up.
